High Holidays at Temple Beth Shalom
Welcome to Temple Beth Shalom, a place of worship, community, and reflection.
As we approach the High Holidays, or Yamim Nora’im (Days of Awe), we invite you to join us in
observing and celebrating these holiest days in the Jewish calendar.
The High Holidays begin with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year,
marking the creation of the world and the start of a ten-day period of introspection and repentance.
This year, Rosh Hashanah begins before sundown on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, and
ends after nightfall on Friday, October 4, 2024.
Following Rosh Hashanah is Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day of the year for the Jewish people. Yom Kippur is a time for prayer, fasting, and communal confession. It begins before sundown on Friday, October 11, 2024, and ends after nightfall on Shabbat, October 12, 2024.
We warmly welcome everyone to participate in our services and events during the High Holidays.
